Output the Composite Sheet Features into an XML File
Composite Sheets
The composite sheet's material data, drillings, grooves and features used in the part, can be output into an XML file. This file acts as a working list of the composite sheet. The file is used to relay the composite sheet data to the machine tool.
Data to be printed to file.
- Sheet dimensions.
- Material thickness.
- Drillings: center point, diameter, depth. Pattern recognition is also added for drillings.
- Grooves: start and end points, width, depth.
- Other features, for example library features: insertion/center point, code, depth.
Note:
- If you select the function in the assembly mode, the output is rolled out. The function will collect the data part-specifically while saving the collected data into an XML file. When outputting from an assembly, the file is automatically named based on the assembly and part label as Assy_Part.xml. Otherwise, the part label is used as the file name, Part.xml. The file is saved in the active project folder, common drawing folder, or a folder selected by the user.
Output composite sheet features in the XML file.
- Do either of the following:
- If you wish to output the feature data of all composite sheets in the assembly, select the assembly label in the assembly tree.
- If you wish to output the feature data of a single composite sheet, you can select the part from the assembly model or the tree.
- Select the context-sensitive function Other exports> Features to XML file.
- Choose the folder in which to save the file.
- Accept the folder suggested by the application.
By default, the XML file is saved in the active project folder. If the project is not active, the file is saved in the Vertex picts folder.

- Select Confirm.
