Constraints Between Projections

You can prevent projections from overlapping in a model drawing by creating geometric constraints between the projections.

The constraint do not affect the geometry of the projection, it affect to projection position to each other in relation to one another.

Using geometric constraints, you can fix the main projection in place, and define the other projections in relation to the main projection.

1. On the tab, in the Constraints group, select Distance constraint.
2. Select from the first projection the point or the line, and point from the other projection the point or the line.
3. Select the position of the constraint.
4. Select in the dialog box.
   • Add Constraint to Default Layer. The constraint is displayed in the drawing.
   • Add Constraint to Default Layer. The constraint is not displayed in the drawing.
   • Also select Don't Ask Me Again. All constraints between projections are added to the selected layer. The dialog box will not be displayed again until you restart the program.
5. Click OK.
6. If necessary, add a constraint.

Constraints between projections do not affect moving or dragging a projection.
