Thin Out

  1. Select the function Point clouds | Thin out.
  2. The program opens the dialog box Thin Out, where the point clouds found on the main level of the assembly are displayed. You can select to include or exclude the clouds to be thinned from the list.
  3. When you move the cursor in the list of point clouds in the dialog box, the program marks the point cloud under the cursor according in the model and feature tree.
  4. Set the thinning interval of the selected point clouds in millimeters.
Note: You can also thin out an individual point cloud by selecting it from the feature tree and using the context-sensitive function Point cloud > Thin out that opens by right-clicking.
Note: If the point cloud has subclouds (e57 files only), they appear as a single cloud after import in the Vertex model, even though they are actually separate. The thin-out function connects the subclouds before thinning.
