Add a Door
Add a door to the building as follows:
- Click the wall.
- Select Wall | Door. The library browser opens.
- Select a door.
The door is locked to glide on the wall at the default height.
- If necessary, change the reference point, handedness or opening direction of the door, or select another auxiliary function.
- Position the door by selecting the location of its reference point. You can add the same door to another position on the same wall.
- Select Confirm.
- Do either of the following:
- Select a new wall, on which the door is to be positioned.
- Select a new door. You can select a new door with the auxiliary function Edit parameters.
- Quit by pressing the Esc key.
When doors are added, the reference point and mirroring information of the previous door are retained. When you add the door to the wall, it cuts an opening into the wall and becomes part of the wall. In the floor plan drawing, the lines of the wall structure layers are cut by the door. If the door has glass sections, these are transparent in the 3D model.
Note
- You can also select the function in the following ways:
- Select Modeling | Wall Layout | Door, and click a wall.
- Click a wall, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Insert Door.
- The default positioning height of the lower edge of the door is 0 in relation to the floor base height. You can use the Select Height function to select a new positioning height. When adding a door in the model, you can change the locking method of the cursor so that you can select the door position at any height, see Locking the Cursor in a Model.
- You can position the door by defining the position of the reference point in relation to a certain point, see Entering a Distance from a Point.
- Quick Selection for the Reference Point allows you to select the left or right edge or the center of the opening as the reference point.
- You can change the handedness of the door by using the Mirror function.
- You can change the opening direction of the door by using the Flip function.
- You can change the visibility of the threshold of an interior door in a drawing by using the Visibility of Interior Door Threshold function.
- You can add an interior door to the building and adjust the arching of its top edge. See Adding a Door Opening with Arched Top.
