Select a Locating Point
This function can be used to select any point on the center line of a frame parallel to the wall as the locating point of a window or door.
When you select this function on a 2D drawing, a drawing window is displayed in which the cross section of the door or window is displayed horizontally. There are three locating point alternatives indicated in the cross section (right edge, left edge and center). You can also select any other point in the cross section as the locating point. The projection of the selected point on the center line of the frame parallel to the wall will then become the locating point.
When you select this function on a 3D model, a model window is displayed which shows the wire-frame model of the door or window. This model can also be used to select any point using the general snap-to-point functions. The projection of the selected point on the surface running through the center line of the frame parallel to the wall will then become the locating point.
- Select the point in the cross section (2D) or the wire-frame model (3D).
- By using the Quick Selection of Locating Point function, you can directly select the left edge, center or right edge of a frame as the locating point.
- When moving a single opening, you can select any point of the drawing as the locating point by using the Selecting a Free Locating Point function.
