Set Stud Positions
Framer
The positioning of studs for a wall panel is defined in the project parameters or the wall frame parameters. The parameters determine the start point of positioning the studs, the stud spacing and the distance of the starting point from the end of the framing. The studs will be distributed from the starting point to both directions according to the stud spacing. You can override the stud starting point defined in the parameters by adding a macro, which determines the starting point, to the floor plan. The macro can be:
- Global - Defines the location of the first part of the structures. This is the first stud on the walls, the first joist on the floor and ceiling structures, and the first truss or rafter on the roofs.
- Wall-specific - Determines the starting point for a specific wall. A wall-specific macro has dominance over the global macro.
- Panel-specific - If the wall consists of more than one panel, you can set the starting point panel-specifically. A panel-specific macro has dominance over the wall-specific macro.
-
If none of the above mentioned stud position methods are used, you can set the position of the first stud at the edge of a panel by editing the edge detail.
