Collect Details And Generate Detail Sheets

This function can be used to generate detail sheets of selected details. The details in the same class will be included on the same sheet. If all details in the same class do not fit on the same sheet, the program will generate another sheet. The number and location of the details added on the sheet has been defined when creating the sheet. The scale of the details on the sheet has been defined when creating the detail using the Save a Drawing as a Detail function.

The detail sheets will be saved in the details/sheets folder in the project folder. If the folder does not exist, the program will create it automatically. The program will add a sequential number at the end of the name of the template sheet used, for example Sheet1.vxp, Sheet2.vxp, etc.

  1. Select Modeling | Drafting | Details Collect Details And Generate Documents.
  2. Select the template sheet and details to be collected in the Generate detail sheets dialog box.

The program will collect the details and open them for viewing in a database view.

The program copies the selected cover as the first detail sheet.

  4. Accept the collected details and close the Collected details database view by clicking the OK button.

If you selected the Open sheets for editing check box in the Generate Detail Sheets dialog box, the drawing sheets are opened for editing.

  5. If necessary, print the detail sheets.
    • Print the active sheet by using the function > Print.
    • Save the sheets as a PDF book by using the function > Print Print PDF Sets. The sheets must be defined in the settings of the PDF set.
    • If you selected to create an output queue for the drawing sheets, you can print the queue by using the > Print Execute Print Queue function.
  6. Close the drawing windows.

Note

  • Detail sheets generated of the detail archive are saved in the ../user/sheets directory.
  • If the same detail appears more than once in the drawing or in the project from which you are collecting the details, it will be added only once on the detail sheet. This is defined in the BDSXX keyword group with the keyword allow_multiple_details= 0.
