Expand Layers

Architectural, Framer

The presentation method of a floor or a ceiling in the model can be either layers expanded or a packed basic volume. You can change the presentation method of a floor or ceiling in the model from the packed basic volume to a detailed presentation by expanding the layers. The program illustrates the layers with different colors in the shaded model. After this, the structural layers can be selected individually for editing, moving or removing.

  1. Select the horizontal structure.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • Select Plane Structure | Volume | Expand.
    • Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Expand Layers.
Note:
  • You can change the presentation method to a packed basic volume by using the function Pack Layers.
  • You can select the layers belonging to the basic volume by editing the properties of the structure - see Edit the Properties of a Floor or Ceiling.
  • If the expanded roof cover layers are not correctly refreshed when you edit a parametric building model, pack the layers and expand them again.
  • By default, floors and ceilings are added with layers expanded. If you wish to add floors and ceilings a packed basic volumes, change the value of the keyword layer_auto_unpack to 0 in the system settings:

    layer_auto_unpack= 0
