Adding a New Window or Door Type to the Library

For the new window or door type you need a 2D drawing which is a front parallel projection of the window or door, viewed from outside. The lines of the drawing must be drawn on certain layers. When the window or door is added to the building, the program creates a 3D volume on basis of the 2D drawing. The thickness of the volume is the thickness of the wall on which the window or door is added.

Note

• The drawing can be for example a DWG file converted to a Vertex 2D drawing.
• Alternatively, you can create new window and door types by creating a detailed 3D model as described in Modeling Your Own Component.
• You can add new sizes of the existing window and door types to the library.
