Define a 3D View in a Drawing

You can set a model view by defining the location of the view point and viewing direction in the floor plan. The view is a perspective projection.

  1. Activate the drawing window.
  2. Select View | 3D View | View 3D.
  3. Select the location of the view point.
  4. Click the viewing direction.

The model window will activate and the model will be set in the defined view. Rotate the model around the view point as follows:

  • Hold down the Shift+Ctrl keys and the left mouse button, and move the mouse.

Note

  • The default values for the view point height, inclination and viewing angle are displayed in prompts on the status bar. You can change these default values as follows:
    • Before selecting the location of the view point, you can select its height (Z coordinate) and inclination (°) by clicking the Z button. Enter the values in the text box. Enter the Z coordinate relative to the floor base height.

    • Before selecting the viewing direction, you can select the viewing angle (°) by clicking the Angle button. Type the value in the text box.

  • You can save the view in the project's document browser.
  • You can later activate the view by double-clicking the view point label in the project's document browser. The views are saved under Views.
  • Restore the visibility of the entire model by selecting one of the projections from the tool strip.
