Space Volume Formation

The program generates the space volume used in energy calculation by combining the selected walls and the horizontal structures in a single geometric volume. A closed space is created inside the volume.

To generate a space volume, the building model must meet the following requirements:

  • The space volume is closed. The model must include a floor, a ceiling and limiting walls. If the space volume is not closed, the function is canceled. However, a chimney or a skylight window in a horizontal structure is allowed.
  • There is a stair opening between floors. If there are several floors in the building, there must be a stair opening in the horizontal structures between the floors. If the stair opening is missing, the horizontal structure closes the space volume and the upper floor is not included in the space volume.
