New Building Label in the DesignStream System

When starting to design a new building using Vertex BD, retrieve a building label from the DesignStream system, or add a new label to the system. The building is first saved to the local archive. You can check-in the building to the DesignStream system when you close the building.

1. Select > New Building. The New Building dialog box opens.
2. Click the Select button. The House Model/Building Search dialog box opens.
3. Select building Type:
   • Project - A customer project that has been confirmed.
   • Proposal/Sketch - A customer project that has not yet been confirmed.
   • House Model - A standard house model that can be used in customer projects.
   • Building Group - A building group model that can be used in other buildings.
4. Do either of the following:
   • Retrieve an existing id from the DesignStream system. You can fill the search criteria in one or more text fields, or leave the fields empty. You can shorten a search term with an asterisk (*).
     • Customer
     • Description
     • Author
     Confirm by clicking the OK button. The buildings in the DesignStream system matching the selected type and search criteria are displayed in a list.

     Select the building and click OK.

   • Add a new id to the DesignStream system. Select the check box New DS building, and click OK. A building of the selected type is created in the DesignStream system, and an id is automatically generated for it. You can replace the automatically generated id with the id of your choice.
5. Define other data in the New Building dialog box.

6. Confirm by clicking OK.
