Import Cable Harness Data

When importing cable harness data from Vertex system, you can use Formatting - menu for preparing the data.

1. Select tab Wiring Harness group Import Cable Harness Data.
2. Select: Read Vertex cable harness drawing.
   • Select Prepare table drawing for base
   • Select Prepare wiring chart
3. Select OK.

Read Vertex cable harness drawing.

You can read Vertex drawing and save it to a drawing number used in the active project. While reading the drawing, you can also carry out the function Prepare table drawing for base.

If you need to edit the drawing before preparations, the preparations can be done afterwards by selecting them from the menu.

Prepare table drawing for base

You can change cable route labels in than active drawing to length attributes used by table drawing. This removes texts as well. Cable harness drawing's end symbols and cable routes connected to them are generated to ending cable branches.

The material info connected to part numbers is attached as attributes to cable routes and end / branch symbols in the same way as in table drawings. If the part number is not associated to drawing element, the transfer is not successful. Such part numbers are kept in the drawing, where they can be associated to elements and then run the preparations again.

Prepare cable list

You can read the database and attach it as the active table drawing's cable list database. At the same time the format of database is generated to the same as in table drawing's cable list.
