Settings for Cable Harness Application
Special settings controlling cable harness applications are saved to a settings database CAR_SETUP. Each setting or parameter is identified by it's ID.
- Select function Cable Harnesses> Settings for Cable Harness Application
- Edit database with basic database functions.
Application Settings
In the list below, essential settings are introduced:
Default value for wire label
Default value for can be set to wire label by using parameter DEFAULT_WNAME, if there is no label present in the diagram.
DEFAULT_WNAME parameter value | Default label rule |
0 | No default, all labels must be given |
1 | <DEV>:<CP>-<DEV>:<CP> |
2 | <DEV>/<CP>-<DEV>/<CP> |
3 | <DEV><CP>-<DEV><CP> |
11 | <CP>:<DEV>-<CP>:<DEV> |
12 | <CP>/<DEV>-<CP>/<DEV> |
13 | <CP><DEV>-<CP><DEV> |
In the label rules, <DEV> designates device name of wire end and <CP> corresponding pin number. Wire ends are ordered alphabetically by device name
Default values for Wire Types and Sizes
Parameters in the list below control default types and sizes.
Parameter ID | Description |
DEFAULT_WTYPE | Default wire type |
DEFAULT_WSIZE | Default wire size |
DEFAULT_WSIZEG | Default wire size of ground wire |
DEFAULT_WCOLOR2 | Default wire colour |
DEFAULT_WCOLOR | Default colour of ground wire |
Collecting cabled wires from wiring diagrams
Cabled wires are collected, if parameter WL_COLL_MODE has value 1. In wiring list cabled wires are named using cable and wire tag. Parameter WL_CBLBL_SEP defines separator between cable tag and wire tag.
Interpretation of harness drawing device labels
Special setting HARN_DEV_POS with value 1 directs application to treat device name AA-BB in harness drawing to be actually -AA-BB and not +AA-BB, as the standard ED interpretation would be.
