Move a Symbol

You can move a symbol from a connection line to another connection line.

  • The connection line is automatically connected in the new location of the symbol and disconnected in the old location.
  • You can also move the symbol away from the connection line or locate it on the connection line.
  1. On the tab, in the Tools group, click Move Symbol.
  2. Click the symbol.
  3. Click the new location.
  4. Switch a wiring with Switch wiring.

Context sensitive

  1. Select a symbol to be moved:
  2. Select the context-sensitive menu function Move (disconnect/connect).
  3. Click a reference point.
  4. Before clicking a new location, you can rotate the macro by selecting an angle value on the contextual toolbar.
  5. Do either of the following:
    • Select the location of the reference point on the connection line.
    • Select an other location for the reference point.
  6. Select Confirm.

You can also activate the symbol handle and select the context-sensitive function Move (disconnect/connect).

Note

  • If you are adding a symbol on the connection line and snap to grid points is selected, the macro will be positioned to the grip point on the line.
  • When removing a symbol, the setting of the angle will also rotate labels of the symbol to correspond it's angle. You can use this property also when adding symbols that have default labels.

By Angle value 0, labels will be set correct. The other angle values, labels will set to default positions. If you are adding a symbol to a drawing, first in the 0 angle, and after then you move it to the proper angle, all labels will follow the position of the symbol. This works also when mirroring a symbol.

  • If you wish to move a symbol by stretching the connection lines when the symbol is moved and the connections of the connection lines to the symbol are maintained, select the function Move.
