Moving a Symbol by Stretching Connection Lines

You can move a symbol so that the connection lines stretch with the symbol as it moves, and the connections of the connection lines to the symbol are maintained.

  1. Select the symbol to be moved.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Move.
  3. Click the reference point.

The cursor will automatically snap to a symbol point, position point and reference point of the symbol to be moved. The point is marked with grey color. The position point with the blue color is an exception. If you move the cursor near to the handle, its color turns yellow, and you can click the point.

  4. Before clicking a new location, you can rotate the symbol by selecting an angle value on the contextual toolbar.
  5. Select a new location for the reference point.
  6. Select function Confirm.

You can also activate the symbol handle and select the context-sensitive function Move.

Note

  • If you are adding a symbol on a connection line and snap to grid points is selected, the symbol will be positioned to the grip point on the line.
  • If you wish to move a symbol from the connection line to an other connection line, select the function Move (disconnect/connect).

Moving a Symbol from/to the Line

  • When removing a symbol, the setting of the angle will also rotate labels of the symbol to correspond the angle of the symbol. You can use this property also when adding symbols having default labels.

By Angle value 0, labels will be set correct. The other angle values, labels will set to default positions. If you are adding a symbol to a drawing, first in the 0 angle, and after then you move it to the proper angle, all labels will follow the position of the symbol. Works also when mirroring a symbol.
