Shell Feature Data

This function can be used to define the wall thickness inside or outside of the part. Specify the feature data in the dialog box.

Dialog Box Options

Value

Defines the value of the wall thickness. The wall is added either inside or outside of the edge. When you want to add the wall so that the edge of the selected face becomes the outer edge of the wall, click the In button (A). To make the edge of the face the inner edge of the wall, click the Out button (B).

A wall thickness defined using the In button will be displayed in the dimension table as a negative value.

Formula

Defines the wall thickness as a variable.

Face1, etc.

List of elements, based on which the feature is modeled. You can view and edit the selections before confirming the data.

Apply

Preview by clicking the Apply button in the dialog box. This will show you how the model would look if you confirmed the feature data by clicking OK. If necessary, you can still edit the feature data.
