Part Item Data

You can add and edit the item data of a part one of the followings:

  • When creating a new document.
  • Select a part from the feature tree and then select the context-sensitive function Item Data.
  • Select a part from the working window and then select the context-sensitive function Item Data.
  • Select a part in the working window, then select the context-sensitive function Properties and click the Item Data button.

Grouping the Item Data of the Part

  1. Item Data - Part or Assembly.

    Defines the data and properties of a part and an assembly.

  2. Item Structure - Part or Assembly.
    • Part structure data can be a material, preform or data describing the consumption grouped on two tabs:
      • Archive Item Data
      • Purchased Item Data
    • Assembly structure data is a list of parts of an assembly, including the number of parts.

Item Data

Code
Item label. By clicking the button Label?, define the item label. If the Label field is empty, the material data of the part will not be presented in the assembly parts list, which is generated by collecting the entire structure (roll-out).
The other naming method of the label is implemented as customer fitting.
Label - Table Model
The item of the table model is created automatically by adding a prefix VAR to the label of the part. For example, VAR-Wheel. You can complement the item label. As the structure data of the table model is presented the items, which are defined as configuration-specific and which drawings are table drawings.
Transfer to Items
Saves the part into an item in the Item Database.
Edit
Opens the part's item data for editing in the Item Database.
Description, Shape, Dimensions, Unit, Standard
The contents of the Description field are collected from the document's archive data when you enter a name in the label field.
If you select an item from the label's item database, these fields are autofilled with its data.
Drawing, Model Labels
This data is collected from the archive data of the model and the model drawing.
Weight
This field will contain the result of the program's weight calculation when you click the Calculate button.
Weight, Weighted
In the field, the weighed weight of the product is displayed, if Weighed checkbox is selected and you fill in the weighed weight.
Area, Factor
This field constains the calculation result of the program's area when you click the Calculate button.

Purchasing Method
Choose a purchasing method.
Stored/Spare Part
Defines stored or spare part as the item data.
Classification
This field contains the class that defines the model's classification. It can be a part, assembly or a class chosen from the item data. You can define the preselection data in item classes.
Main Group
The main class of product classification.
Sub Group
The subclass of product classification.

Material Data

Label, Description, Material, Preform, Amount, Unit etc.
These are item data and are collected in the parts list of the drawing. Select or ill in the data in the fields.
The preform and the material data of a sheet-metal part and composite sheet are updated automatically.

Get Item button
You can select item for the part from the item database. Move cursor over the Label field and click the Get Item button. Select an item.
Pick Dimension button
You can pick dimensions of the part to the Preform field of material data. You can use this function, if you have defined variables for the part, and created dimension table IDs.
Move cursor over the Preform field. You can type text in the field, for example PL-5, and then pick the dimension by clicking the Pick Dimension button. Select the dimension value from the list. The selected dimension is displayed in the Preform field between number signs (#) including the variable name. You can add characters in the field, but not between number signs. The typed characters are displayed bold in examples.

Example 2 - In the drawing the size of preform is displayed as follows: PL5-1500x800
