Set a Gap (Offset) when Trimming Profiles

Profile Structure Design

Set a gap when trimming to a face or part, for example for a welding groove. The function is available when you add a profile and trim it to a face or miter, and also in several trimming functions to a face, part or miter.

Note: The software remembers the previous gap value, so if you select first the profiles and then the trimming function for example from the Profiles tab, the software uses the previous gap value.

Do as follows:

  1. Place the cursor in the assembly window and deselect all by pressing Esc.
  2. Launch the trim function by for example selecting it in the Assembly tab.
  3. Define a value for the gap in the working window's field. The contents of the field varies with the function selected. The unit in the field is mm and the default gap value is zero.
  4. Finish the trim function as usual by selecting the parts to be trimmed.
