Primary Support

Piping Design

Add primary support with types and dimensions accordant with the "PSK Manual 8, Pipe Supporting" to an assembly.

  1. On the tab, in the Fastening group, select Insert Primary Supports.
  2. Select the support type from the library: spring, for example.
  3. Select a support by double-clicking the corresponding thumbnail.
  4. Select the pipe to which to add the support, and the pipe size.
  5. Fill in the primary support data. For example:
    • Support position (can also be empty)
    • Type
    • Top structure
    • Top DN
    • Suspension spring
    • Purlin
  6. Select OK.

    The support moves along the pipe.

  7. If necessary, select auxiliary placement functions. Auxiliary Functions
  8. Indicate the support's location on the pipe.
    • Depending on the selected support, indicate the level of the top mounting. For example, indicate the support rod height for suspension and spring supports.
    • You can specify the height after indicating the center line. Set the Z axis rules and enter the distance in coordinates. You can also indicate it in the model.

  • On the tab, in the Fastening group, select Generate Support Drawings.

View Support Part Information

  1. Select a support from the assembly.
  2. Select the Item Data function from the context-sensitive menu.
  3. Browse the information using the Up and Down arrow keys.

    To browse the data arranged into rows, press the Shift + Down Arrow.

Add Primary Support – Alternative

  1. Instead of selecting a pipe, you can also indicate the support position in an empty area of the model window.
  2. Select the pipe size from the list.
  3. Fill in the support data.
  4. Indicate the center line of the pipe to be supported.
  5. Indicate the level of the support's top mounting.
  6. Click a position.
Note:
  • If you do not indicate the support location on the pipe, the support will not be added to the pipeline.
