Save a Part as a Component in the Library

Library

 You can save as a library component follows:

  • Part
  • Assembly imported as a one part in Vertex.

You cannot save a part handled as a surface model in the component library.

Saving a part as a library component is similar to saving a new feature in the library.

  1. Select the context-sensitive function Save To Library> As Component.
  2. If necessary, create a new folder.
  3. Select the folder in which you wish to save the library component.
  4. Enter the file name. Naming a File
  5. Click the Save button.
Note:
  • The default component folder is Shared/components, in which you can save your own library components. You must not change the name of this folder. You can create subfolders in this folder by selecting the Create New Folder function in the Windows Save As dialog box. Notice the naming rules.

    Naming

    The folder System/components contains sample components. These will be replaced with new ones when the software is updated.

  • When the library component is saved, also the Browser thumbnail image file of the feature is automatically saved.
  • You can define the component to get its length and diameter dimensions from clicking in the model.
  • Library components can be edited and renamed in a manner similar to library features.
  • You can also save a WWW components in the library.
