Define Dimension Table Data (3D)
The part is edited by the values of the dimension table, or the part is edited by changing the values of the variables in the table, or by just changing the value of a variable in a single phase. The dimension table data will be saved when you save the model. The data is model-specific.
The dimension table data define the numeric values of the variables affecting a sketch or a part.
As an example, Seal library components dimension table.
Add table ID´s in the Dimension table dialog box.
- Select the part.
To the parts geometry you have ealier defined variable. For, example,in the sketch to the dimension constraint Formula field variable, the length of the extrude.
- Select the context-sensitive function Dimension Table.
- Select the old Table IDin the list.
- Do one of the following:
- Change the variable values of one or several work phases. Update modifications to the part by the Usage button.
- Save the new table ID by entering the table ID and clicking the Add Data button.
- Delete an existing table by selecting the table ID in the list and clicking the Delete Data button.
- If you edit the table data in the XML format, import the part's dimension table data by the button Import database.
- Export dimension table data for editing with the Export Database button.
- Click OK. The dimension table data are the data of a part, and the geometry of the part will change according to the selections made in the dialog box.
Dialog Box Options
- Edit part data
- In the list, select the table ID to be used to edit the part. After selecting the table ID, the values defined for the ID will be set for the variables in the phases. When you confirm the data, the geometry of the part will change to match the values in the table. If the field is empty, no table ID has been defined for the part. You can define a table ID by using the Add Data function.
- Add Data
- You can define several table IDs for a part. Each table ID has different variable values in its phases. You can create a new table ID by first editing the variables of the part's phases, then entering the table ID and clicking the Add Data button. The variable values will be saved as the values of the table ID in question. The maximum length of a table ID is 32 characters.
- Delete Data
- You can delete data from a table by first selecting the table ID to be deleted in the list and then clicking the button.
- Selected variable values only from the list
- If you select Selected variable values only from list, library feature or component is edited by selecting the table ID.
- Import Database
- The button opens the Windows Open File dialog box, allowing you to load the XML file. The contents of the file will replace the dimension table data, if the file format is correct.
- Export Database
- Opens Windows Save File dialog box, in which you can save the dimension table table ID, also the varable data to the XML file. The file is opened in the Excel. Save the edited file in the same file format.
- To Product Database
- Click the button when you want to copy the table IDs defined for a library component into the product database.
- Phase 1, 2, etc. (Work phase)
- When a variable has been defined in the Formula field (in the data of a feature or in the dimension constraint of a sketch), a part's feature will be displayed as a work phase in the dimension table. You can edit the variable value of the feature by entering a new value in the dimension table field. The calculations between variables will be done based on the values entered.
- Apply
- Preview by clicking the Apply button in the dialog box. This will show you how the model would look if you confirm the function by clicking OK. If necessary, you can still edit the data.
