Enable the Selection of Diameter and Length
You can define the size of a component by selecting the diameter and length from the model.
- When you select a standard from the software supplier's component library (System), a dialog box will be displayed in which you can define the diameter and length.
- By clicking the Point button, you can define the variable values by clicking on the model.
You can also add this feature to your own components. This requires that a handle has been defined for the component. A corresponding property can also be defined for a feature.
Enabling the selection of dimension
You can enable the dimension selection after you have added a handle to a part.
Enable the selection of diameter and length for your own components in the Shared folder as follows:
- Open the component in the working window from the component folder by selecting the Import function.
- First select the part, then the context-sensitive function Dimension Table. The part's dimension table will be displayed, and you can edit the data.
- Fill in to the dimension table Diameter dimension the conponent diameter and description label. Label is the variable of one of the phases in the dimension table, which is defined earlier. The field is active if you have already defined table IDs for the component.
- In the to the dimension table Length dimension field the component length illustrate label.
- Save the dimension table data.
- Save the component in the component library with the same file name.
Note:
- When the Diameter and Length fields are empty, selecting a dimension from the model is disabled.
- An incorrect variable will cause an error when using the component library. Check the diameter/length variable in the dimension table.
