Save a New Sketch to the Sketch Library
- Open the part model in the working window. Browse - Archives
- Create the new sketch. Plane Sketch
- Draw on the tab, in the Lines group, functions.
- In the sketching mode, save the finished sketch in the sketch library.
- The origin of the sketching coordinate system will be saved as the insertion point of the sketch.
- The formula definitions of dimension constraints of a sketch will be saved in a sketch.
- Select the context-sensitive function Save To the Library.
- Select the folder, or create a new folder.
- Enter the file name. The file type for sketches is vxm.
- Select Save.
Note:
- The following constraints will be saved in the sketch: The constraints of the sketch added between the sketch and elements, or between elements of the sketch and origin of the sketching coordinate system.
- When saving the sketch, the Browser thumbnail image file of the sketch will also be saved automatically. The file name of the sketch will be displayed as a sketch label below the thumbnail image in the browser. When you save the sketch, vxm and bmp files will be created.
If you wish to edit the geometry of the sketch later, open the model from the sketch library by clicking Import, make the necessary changes and save the model again with the same name.
- Delete or rename a subfolder in the sketch library by using Windows File Explorer. You can also delete or rename a library sketch, provided that you rename both library sketch files. Notice the naming rule.
