- Select surfaces and tangential shellings.
- Define the Surface Copy Data in the dialog box.
- Click OK.
In Context-sensitive Menu
You can copy selected faces. You can select surfaces a model, and when modeling a new part, you can select surfaces on other parts in the assembly.
You can flip the surface in relation to the original surface.
When copying part surfaces in an assembly, the copied surfaces will have an external reference to the original surfaces. When the original surface changes, the copied surface will also change.
If you copy a surface to a volume, the model changes automatically into a surface model.
- Select either of the following:
- On the toolbar Copy face.
- Select the context-sensitive function Surfaces > Copy.
- You can use snap to tangential line chain when selecting a surface.
- If you wish to add a tangential chain of faces by clicking one face only, the search of tangential chain of faces is selected:
- When you wish to select individual surfaces, disable snap to tangential line chain by clicking the button.
- Select surfaces as follows:
- Select the surfaces you want to copy from the surface model.
- When modeling a new part in an assembly, you can select surfaces off other parts.
- Select Confirm.
- Define the data in the dialog box.
- Define an offset from the original surface for the copied surface.
- Select adding a surface inside In or outside Out in relation to the selected surfaces.
- You can flip the copied surface in relation to the original surface by selecting Reverse surface direction.
- View, change or delete surfaces selected for copying with the buttons. Select the surface from the list and click a button.
- You can also add a tangential line chain or select individual surfaces. Click the Add button to add a surface by clicking it in the model.
- If you select Remove original geometry, only the copied surfaces remain visible in the model.
- You can mirror faces created when copying by selecting Mirror. The text Mirror Plane appears in the element list, unless a mirror plane has been indicated earlier. Indicate a mirror plane in the model.
- If you are modeling a new part in the assembly, you can model a sheet metal part by selecting the property To volume. When you confirm the data, opens Tangential Offset data, in which Change to sheet metal part is selected. You can define the thickness of the sheet metal part in section Value.
- Preview by clicking the Apply button in the dialog box. If necessary, you can still edit the feature data.
