Export of Sheet Metal Parts
Sheet-Metal Design
You can export selected sheet metal parts from an assembly or one single sheet metal model into Vertex drawings or other file formats. You can select one or more file formats at the same time.
Export of sheet metal parts to dxf/dwg format saves only the drawings that only contain a flattening projection from the sheet metal parts in the assembly. However, the drawing containing a flattening projection is only used if the flattening has been made from the active configuration. If the parts have no drawings or a drawing with only a flattening projection (created from the active configuration) does not exist, the software creates a temporary drawing from the active configuration that only contains a flattening projection using the scale 1:1 and the default settings defined in the setup for line visibility, types and layers.
Open a model (assembly or part) into the working window, and export sheet metal parts as follows:
- Select the sheet metal parts to be exported.
- If you export sheet metal parts from an assembly, select the parts to be exported from the assembly tree or from the model. You can export all sheet metal parts of an assembly by selecting the assembly’s label from the assembly tree.
- If you export a single sheet metal model, do not select anything.
- Select the context-sensitive function .
- Select the saving format and setup files that control Dxf or Dwg export in the dialog box.
- You can select 2D and 3D file formats which are included in the software license.
-
For 3D file formats, you can choose the parts to be saved either as Bended (default) or Unbended.
- Click the Browse button to define the directory in which the exported files are saved.
- Select OK.
- Vertex will report the result of the batch export in the dialog box after it is finished. Select OK.
