Create a New Lamp Component

You can create your own lamp components in the component library, allowing you to control the location, direction and intensity of the light in a model.

A lamp component can be a part or an assembly. A Lamp property is a part property.

  1. Model the geometry of the lamp in a part model.
  2. Add lights to the part using rendering functions. Lights are saved in the model, and you can connect them to the geometry of the part in the light properties.
  3. Add a spotlight and/or a pointlight to the part. You can connect both to the geometry of the part.
  4. Select a part and then select the context-sensitive function Properties. Select Lamp as the part property.
  5. Finally, save the part in the component library by selecting the Save to Library> As Component function.
