Edit a Local Part in a Pattern
You can edit a pattern created of a local part as follows:
- Edit all parts of the pattern to be identical.
- Edit an individual part in the pattern.
- Change the parts in the pattern into their own instances and edit the individual parts.
You can identify a local part from it not having the L extension in the assembly tree.
Edit all parts of the pattern to be identical
If you edit the first part, all parts in the pattern will be updated.
- Select the first part of the pattern from the assembly tree. If the pattern has an auxiliary part, the first part is below the auxiliary part.
- Select the context-sensitive function Edit, or double-click the part.
- Edit the geometry of the part and accept the part.
Edit an individual part
Edit a part in the pattern by selecting a part other than the first part of the pattern.
- Select a part other than the first part of the pattern.
- Edit the part using the Edit function and accept the part.
Note:
- A part edited like this is displayed in the Edited field in the assembly pattern data.
Change the parts in the pattern into their own instances and edit the individual parts
When adding or editing a pattern, you can define every part of the pattern to be an instance of its own. After this, you can also edit the first part of the pattern, without the other parts of the series changing.
- When add or edit the pattern, add (*.*) in the beginning of the Edited field in the pattern data and accept the data. (*.*) and confirm the data.
- Select a part in the pattern for editing.

- A part edited like this is displayed in the Edited field in the assembly pattern data. The field also begins with (*.*).
