Set Connection Tolerance for Parts

Piping Design

What the angle tolerance does in practice is that, when routing a pipe or duct line between two straight lines, for example, an elbow will not be added if the angle is less than the angle tolerance value.

Correspondingly, when ending a line, for example, a connection to another section can be added without an elbow if the angle is less than the angle tolerance value.

The angle tolerance also affects the editing of the slope. If the angle of a bend at the set slope is less than the minimum angle of the curve or exceeds its maximum angle, editing can be conducted within the angle tolerance.

The default value for an angle tolerance is 1.0.

You can set the connection tolerance when adding a pipe or duct line, or pipe or duct component, or when editing the properties of a pipe line.

  1. Select Piping | Tools | Tolerances.
  2. Define the information in the dialog box fields.
    • Maximum allowed size difference (mm)
    • Maximum allowed angle difference (°)
  3. Confirm the data.
