Autosaving a Project

In addition to versions saved by the user, one or several versions of the project are stored automatically. You can set the user-specific autosave frequency and the autosave quantity as follows:

  1. Select > Preferences > Language, Autosave, DesignStream. The User Settings dialog box opens.
  2. In the Time Interval field, enter the autosave frequency in minutes.
  3. Type the number of autosave versions in the No. of autosaves field.
  4. If necessary, you can restore the autosave defaults by clicking the Default values button.
  5. Save the user-specific settings by clicking the OK button.
Note:

  • The default autosave time interval is defined in the BDSXX keyword group using the keyword building_autosave.

  • When you open a project, you can choose to open the autosave version or the version saved by the user by clearing the Open latest version of project check box in the Open Project dialog box.

  • If you want the latest version to refer to the latest autosaved version when a project is opened, the BDSXX keyword group must contain the keyword allow_auto_as_last= 1.

  • If a project is open, you can restore the autosave version or a version saved by the user by selecting Archives | Buildings | Open > Select Version.
