Save a Project

Save an active project in one of the following ways:

  • Select > Save Project.
  • Press Ctrl+S.

When a project is saved, its 2D drawing, 3D model and databases are saved in the project directory.

Kept versions

The previously saved versions of the project are also kept. The number of kept versions list is defined in the BDSXX keyword group under the keyword max_building_versions. When you open a project, you can choose to open a version previously saved by the user by clearing the Open latest version of project check box in the Open Project dialog box. If a project is open, you can restore a previously saved version by selecting Archives | Buildings | Open Select Version. You can delete all the old versions and keep only the latest saved version when closing a project.

Autosave

In addition to versions saved by the user, one or several versions of the project are stored automatically. You can set the autosave frequency and the number of autosaves, see Autosaving a Project.

Note

  • During saving, the program will automatically check whether there are overlapping building components in the project. If overlapping components are found, the program will display an error message and asks the user to select the Check Building Component Interference function in order to locate and remove them.
  • When you save the project, the program saves preview images of the building model MODEL.vxm and framing model FRAMING.vxm into BMP files under the project.
  • When a project, model or drawing is saved, the system automatically checks the integrity of the object model. When the model is checked, it is possible to fix the errors that may occur in the models created with previous program versions, for example. If the model contains errors, they will be listed in a dialog box. Close the dialog box by clicking OK, after which you can choose whether to fix the errors or not.
