Dimension

You can dimension a planar sketch in the same way as with the Distance, Angle, Diameter or Radius functions.

  1. Select Sketch | Dimension.
  2. Select the element being dimensioned, such as a line, circle or a pair of points.
  3. Select the position of the dimension.
  4. Edit the data in the Edit constraint dialog box.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Add more constraints by repeating steps 2-5 or finish adding constraints by pressing the ESC key or the middle mouse button.
Note:
  • You can dimension the diameter of a part which is rotationally symmetric.
  • The dimension will change between distance and diameter when you move the cursor over the rotation axis before positioning the dimension.
  • The type of one of the lines must be Rot.Axis.
  • This works for both the Distance and the Dimension constraints.
  • After positioning the dimension you can drag the it elsewhere and it will remain a diameter dimension.
