Connect a Sketch

Defines the new position of the sketch in the geometry of the part in relation to the origin of the sketch. Attachment elements (face, point) of a failed feature, no longer existing in the model, are highlighted in red in the dialog box menu.

Dialog Box Options

Face

Select Face from the dialog box list. The attachment face of the sketch is highlighted in the part. The new attachment face must be of the same type. Select a new attachment face (planar face) if you are moving the sketch to a different face of the part.

Line

Select Line from the dialog box list. The origin of the sketch is highlighted in the part. Select a new line from the geometry of the part.

Point (Origin)

Select Point (Origin) from the dialog box list. The origin of the sketch is highlighted in the part. Select a new origin from the attachment face of the sketch.

Point (X direction)

Select Point (X direction) from the dialog box list. The direction of the sketching coordinate system's X axis is highlighted in the part. Select a new X axis direction point from the attachment face of the sketch.

Change

This function can be used to reselect a sketch's attachment face, origin, or X axis direction point. First select Face/Point (Origin)/Point (X direction) from the dialog box menu and then click the Change button. Then select a face/point from the geometry of the part. If necessary, accept the element selection with the Confirm function.
