Window and Door Sheets to a Local Project Archive

Architectural

This function can be used to create graphical schedules for the windows and doors of a building. You can also add an opening list to a floor plan.

The program will collect windows and doors from every drawing-model pair of the building, and add sheet labels for them to the floor plan on a specific layer. The label format is as follows: PREFIX-NUMBER, for example, W-2. The prefix depends on the numbering system, which is defined in the settings, see Window and Door Sheet Settings. The number after the prefix is the same with identical windows, unless you have chosen to use individual numbering. The openings are numbered by wall chains, starting from the top left in the floor plan and proceeding clockwise.

The program creates an opening sheet for each different label.

Create the opening sheets as follows:

  1. Select Output | Order Forms | Window/Door.
  2. Select the labels, sheets and schedules to be updated in the Window and Door Sheets dialog box.

    Window and Door Sheets

  3. Confirm by clicking OK.

You can open a sheet by using the function Open a Window or Door Sheet, or by double-clicking a sheet name in the project document browser. The sheets can be found in the project document browser under Architectural documents / Openings. You can open the summary sheet by using the function > Open File.

If the walls of the building are paneled and the panel drawings have been created, the program will prompt you to update the panel drawings once the opening sheet labels have been added. The program will always prompt you to update the panel drawings upon changes to the opening sheet labels. Select either of the following:

  • Yes - The program updates the panel drawings.
  • No - The panel drawings are not updated, but their labels are marked with an asterisk in the floor plan to indicate changes.

Note

  • The drawing files of the sheets are saved under the project in the Opngs folder.
  • The viewing direction of the openings, the numbering system and the label properties are defined in a setup file, see Window and Door Sheet Settings.
  • Once you have created the sheets, you can also select the function in the project document browser:
    1. Select Project Document Browser.
    2. Move the cursor on the title Architectural Documents / Openings.
    3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
    4. Select Window and Door Sheets.
  • This function is not available if you are logged in to the DesignStream system. In this case, the function Window and Door Sheets to DesignStream can be used.
