Connection Type dialog box

Architectural, Framer

Select the wall connection type in the Connection Type dialog box.

Stacked wall
Walls on top of each other on different floors are connected to each other, after which, for example, a window added to the connection point of the walls is modeled to both the wall above and below.Once you have selected the walls to be connected, the Stacked Walls Additional Properties dialog box opens. In the dialog box, you can select following additional properties for the walls:
  • You can merge the exterior sidings of the walls by selecting the check box Merge sidings.
  • If the walls to be connected are of different thickness, you can select the windows and doors to be presented according to the thicker wall in the 2D drawing by selecting the check box Place doors and windows using thickest wall as reference.
Marriage wall
This connection type is used in following cases, for example:
  • A brick wall of a wet space is connected to an adjacent exterior wall.
  • The exterior siding of a first floor wall, which has been stretched up to the roof, is connected to a second floor wall, which has been added as a bare wall frame without a siding.
  • After the connection, a window added to the exterior wall will be modeled through both wall structures. This will also affect windows added before connecting the walls.
Marriage wall, cut sheathing
Same as the Marriage wall connection type, plus the removal of the exterior wall's interior finish sheathing from the connection part.
Connect all stacked walls
Through this connection type, all walls in the building that are on top of each other are connected simultaneously.
