Defining Component Change Rules

Component Change

Component Change is an add-on option of the Vertex BD software.

You can substitute a component with another component, change component parameters, move or delete a component by defining component change rules. By changing components, you can achieve the following, for example:

  • Change the roof slope.
  • Change the eave overhang.
  • Change windows.
  • Change opening trims.
  • Change a siding material.
  • Move a door.
  • Change a building group.

You can define the component change rules as follows:

  1. Select Modeling | Tools > Set Up Component Change. The Component Change dialog box opens.
  2. Define the component change rules in the dialog box.

  3. Confirm by clicking OK.

Components are changed, moved or deleted when you select the Change Components function or when you solve the options.
