Panel Weight to a Wall Panel Drawing

Framer

You can add the weight of a panel to a wall panel drawing as a text macro. You will need a software customization to be able to use this feature. The text macro contains the panel weight that is calculated based on the weight of the wall frame, sheeting, siding, insulation, windows and doors. The weights of the panel parts are determined as follows:

  • Frame weight - A weight is determined for each profile used in the frame in the cross section library. The weight is determined in the SEC_WEIGHT field of the database.
  • Sheeting weight - Sheeting weight is determined in the sheeting database. The weight is determined in the AREA_WEIGHT field of the database.
  • Siding and insulation - The weight of siding and insulation is defined in a detail file with the keyword:

material_spec= "Square meter wight of siding" SIDING_WEIGHT 60

  • Windows and doors - The weight of openings is defined in a detail file with the keywords:

material_spec= "Square meter wight of windows" WIN_WEIGHT 70

material_spec= "Square meter wight of doors" DOOR_WEIGHT 80

The template sheets of the wall panel drawings are stored in the picts/wallpnl folder. Open a template sheet and add the text macro #PANEL_WEIGHT# to the wall panel drawing as follows:

  1. Select Drafting | Text.
  2. Type the text macro e.g. in the format:

    Weight \!#PANEL_WEIGHT# kg

In this case, the text macro is updated each time you open the wall panel drawing.

  3. Confirm by clicking OK.
  4. Select the text properties.
  5. Click the text location.
  6. Quit adding text by pressing the Esc key.

Note

  • Editing the cross section library and structure libraries is the system administrator's task.
