Truss Libraries

You can model trusses using profiles and save them to the truss library. The function is particularly suitable for modeling massive wooden surface frame trusses. The truss joints can also be modeled by adding tenon joints between the profiles from the connection detail browser. The trusses added to a building model are stretched to the shape of the roof using the shape of the truss volume.

The shape of the truss you are modeling is created by adding a truss area to the roof. The program also adds truss volumes. The volumes only contain a shape, not the parts. Model a truss on a so called work plane. Add profiles and attach the profiles to a truss volume and to each other using geometric constraints and profile joints.

Save the finished truss to the customer-specific truss library. You may have several truss libraries available. Each library has its own folder in the software folder structure, containing:

  • Truss model files.
  • A database used to manage the library.

The system truss libraries are located in the system/complibs/trusses folder. They cannot be edited. You can only edit customer-specific libraries in the custom/complibs/trusses folder.
