Save a Corner Detail as a New Detail
You can open a corner detail stored in the edge detail library, modify it and save it as a new detail in the library. You can use the detail in the wall panel design at a later date.
All the layers that are necessary in the target panel, need to be defined in the corner detail. The corner detail can include even more layers, for example pre-defined double sheathings, even though they would not be used at the moment. You can add new layers to a wall of a detail in the same way as to a regular wall: by editing its properties.
The edges of each layer need to be connected together in the corner detail.
- Find the model file (*.vxm) of the detail in the Windows Explorer, and open it in Vertex by using the drag and drop method. The file opens to a model window of its own. The customer-specific edge details are stored in a folder in the custom/complbs folder, for example structdet_cst.
- Edit the joints.
- Select System | Structural Libraries | Store Corner Detail.
The program asks you to select the panel and the reference edge.
- Select the structure.
- Select the reference edge by clicking the middle grip point of the edge.
The library browser opens. All customer- or project-specific libraries of the structdet type can be selected in the browser.
- Select the Custom Libraries, or Project Libraries folder in the browser if you want to save a project-specific detail. You will see the libraries in the right side browser pane.
- Double-click the library. The Edge Detail database view opens.
- Fill in the detail data.
- Description - Displayed in the browser.
- Code
- Browser Path - Folder from which the detail can be selected in the browser. Do either of the following:
- Click the drop down arrow on the right side of the field to open the browser. Right-click the folder, and select Select Folder.
- Type the name of the folder in format /folder/ or /folder/subfolder/.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Close the model window of the detail.
- The corner or edge connection thumbnail image for the browser is created from the view in the model window.
