Automatic Dimensioning During Option Solving

Option System

You can add dimension point macros to the floor plan, according to which the program will automatically create dimension lines when you solve the options. You can define horizontal or vertical dimension lines in front of the building, on the back of the building, or on the left or right side of the building. You can add the dimension point macros either to the components of the active option, or to the components of another option in the floor plan drawing.

You can generate the following kinds of automatic dimension lines with dimension point macros, depending on the addition method of the macros:

  • One Default Dimension Line Group. The group includes three dimension lines. The dimension line properties and their positioning in the floor plan are defined in the system settings:

    One Default Dimension Line Group

  • User-defined Dimension Line Groups. You can define one or more dimension line groups. Each group can include 1-3 dimension lines. You can define the dimension lines' properties and positioning in the floor plan.

    User-defined Dimension Line Groups

Add the dimension point macros with the Add an Automatic Dimension Point.

Once you have added the dimension point macros, attach them to the option by using the function Edit Option Components.

Note

  • In option solving, the geometric constraints in the floor plan drawing are solved first. Only after this, the automatic dimension lines are added.
