Item Data Connected to a Configuration

You can add item data to a configuration or edit its existing item data as follows:

  1. Expand Configurations in the feature tree of a part or the assembly tree.
  2. Move the cursor over the desired configuration and select the context-sensitive function Item Data.

When you add the second item in the model, accept the changing of the model into a table model.

  3. Do either of the following:
    • Fill in the data of the new item.

The item label is automatically specified using the part label as the prefix and the configuration number as the suffix, for example Wheel-2. You can also specify the label yourself and enter the materials data, or select the item data from the item database.

    • Edit existing item data.
  4. Click OK.
Note:
  • You can also add item data to a configuration by moving the cursor over the Configurations symbol in the feature tree of the part and select the context-sensitive function Configuration Data. Click the Item Data column in the table at the relevant configuration.

Configuration Data Connected to a Model

  • If necessary, you can remove item data from a model, which has configurations. This may be necessary, for example, if a model containing items wish to be saved as a new document. The model and its drawings will then be renamed, but the items will refer to items of the old model.

You can remove the item from the configuration by activating the first configuration 0: Default and selecting the context-sensitive function Item Data. Move cursor over the Label field and clear the Label. You can also press the Shift+Delete. Confirm the removing by clicking the OK button. Remove the item data from the other configurations of a model in the same way.

  • If the part or assembly is a table model, it will be displayed in the properties of the part/assembly. The Table Model (multiple items) property is selected.
