Add Parametric Slopes

This function is used to add a ceiling of a certain shape. The shape of the structure can be a single slope, gable roof, half hip roof or hip roof. When this function is activated, the elevation of the slope and slope pitch have default values. If a value has not been selected for these variables in advance, the program loads the default values from the building parameters. Otherwise, the last selected value of the variable is the default value. New values can be selected for the elevation of the edge and slope pitch by activating a suitable auxiliary function. A structure can be selected to be added such that either the top or bottom surface of the edge is positioned at the defined elevation.

The status bar displays the elevation of the edge, pitch, thickness and material code of the structure to be added.

The shape of the structure to be added is selected from the auxiliary menu. In each case, at least three points are selected defining the dimensions of the slopes and the direction of their pitch. The order of selecting these points is illustrated in a sample drawing, which opens after the shape has been selected.

The cursor or the generic snap point functions are used to select the points. It is easy to select the points in a 2D drawing. If points are selected in a 3D model, wire frame can initially be selected as the method of representation of the model, in which case it is easier to select the points of the model.

  1. Select positioning according to top or bottom surface.
  2. Change the pitch of the slope, if necessary.
  3. Change the elevation of the edge, if necessary.
  4. Select the shape of the structure.
  5. Select the points defining the dimensions of the slopes and the direction of their pitch.
