Corner Connections of Profiles

These functions can be used to create a miter joint between two profiles. In case the ends of the profiles to be joined have differing dimensions, you can join the profiles at either the outer or inner corner of the joint. The program will stretch or shorten both profiles so that the joint can be created.

  1. Open the Modeling | Connection | Joint menu.
  2. In the Profiles section, select one of the following:
  3. Select either of the following:
    • Create Corner, Exterior
    • Create Corner, Interior
  4. Select the end of the first profile to be joined.
  5. Select the end of the second profile to be joined.
If there is already a joint at the end of the profile, you will be prompted: "Remove present joints?" Select either of the following:
  • Yes - Remove the old joint and create a new one.
  • No - Keep the old joint. A new joint will not be created.

You can also create a joint by using the function in the context-sensitive menu of the end grip point of a profile:

  1. Select a profile.
  2. Move the cursor near the end grip point.
  3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  4. Select either of the following:
    • Create Corner, Exterior
    • Create Corner, Interior
  5. Select the end of the second profile to be joined.
