Define the View Scale in a Template Sheet

Framer

The view area of a panel drawing and how the scale is determined are set in the template drawing of a panel drawing. The scale of the main view can be a specific standard scale, or it can be fitted to the size of the view area. When using the latter option, the scale can be set to one of the preset options or freely to the largest value that will allow the view to fit the area. You can select how the scale is determined on the template drawing as follows:

  1. Select System | Templates | Panel Drawings Panel Template Drawings. The Panel Template Drawings dialog box opens.
  2. Select a library and a classification in the list box. You can only edit the library data of template drawings in customer-specific wall libraries.
  3. Select the thumbnail image of a template drawing.
  4. Click the Open button.
  5. Select the reference panel to be shown in the template drawing.
  6. Click OK to close the Panel Template Drawings dialog box.
  7. Double-click the main view in the template drawing. The View Settings dialog box opens.
  8. Do either of the following:
    • Use scale fitting

Clear the Locked checkbox. The selection of the Scale list does not matter, as the scale will be adapted to the size of the view area. Select either of the following for Scale Update:

      • Defined - The scale is set to the largest value in the Scale list, in which the view will fit the area. For example, 1:100.
      • Free - The scale is set freely to the largest value with which the view will fit the area. For example, 1:63.
    • Use a standard scale

Select the Locked checkbox. Select an option from the Scale list. Once you have created a panel drawing, you can, if necessary, change the scale of the view by selecting another option in the list.

  9. Confirm by clicking OK.
  10. Close the template drawing and save the changes.

Note

  • Open the template drawing by using the function described above. You cannot edit the view settings if you open the template drawing from Windows Explorer using the drag and drop method.
  • System tab is only available if you are a system administrator.
