Show Framing Components on the Floor Plan Drawing

Framer

After you have created the panel drawings, you can add framing components and labels to the floor plan drawing. The components and labels to be drawn depend on your software customization. The components may include the bottom plate, top plate, stud, horizontal support, beam or king stud of an opening, for example. The program will add the selected components and labels to their own layer in the floor plan drawing.

  1. Select Classic Wall Framing | Wall Panelizing | Edit Panel Display Panel Parts in Floor Plan.
  2. Select the components and labels to be shown in the dialog box.
    • The outline of a component will be drawn in the floor plan drawing if you select the Component check box.
    • The label of a component will be drawn in the floor plan drawing if you select the Label check box.
  3. Confirm by clicking OK. In the basic software delivery, markings are added to the following layers:
    Piece Label
    Bottom plate 177 173
    Top plate 178 173
    Stud 173
    Horizontal support 173
    Beam 178 173
    Opening side 173
  4. You can display the layer by using the functions in the Layers menu.

Note

  • You can delete the markings from a floor plan drawing by clearing the check boxes in the dialog box.
  • The drawing properties of components and labels (layer, color, font, text height etc.) are defined in the system settings.
  • The type of beams to be drawn is defined in the BDSXX keyword group using the keyword wpnl_beam_show and the type of king studs with the keyword wpnl_opstud_show. Separate the types from each other with a vertical line, for example wpnl_opstud_show= 5|6|7.
  • The default settings of the dialog box are defined in the BDSXX keyword group with the keywords pce_bottom_plate_show (bottom plate), pce_top_plate_show (top plate), pce_stud_show (stud), pce_horb_show (horizontal support), pce_beam_show (beam) and pce_opstud_show (opening side). The keywords can have the following values:
    • 0 - Neither check box Component or Label is selected as the default in the dialog box.
    • 1 - Check box Component is selected as the default in the dialog box.
    • 2 - Check box Label is selected as the default in the dialog box.
    • 3 - Both check boxes Component and Label are selected as the default in the dialog box.
