Calculate and Edit Results of a Continuous Beam
The result of the strength calculation is opened in a window. Calculation results are the largest displacement, distance from the initial node, stress of the beam's top surface and the maximum stress of the beam's bottom surface.
The format of the calculation result can be selected in the dialog box. Calculation result is displayed in the drawing. You can save the drawing in the folder or drawing archives.
Bending moment, shear force, displacement and load and support reaction diagrams are always drawn such that the beam's top surface points up and its x-coordinate increases to the right. The start point of the beam is always on the left side of the drawing.
The following rules make it easier to view the values displayed in the diagrams.
- Support reaction values are framed.
- The start and end points of an evenly distributed line load are indicated by an arrow a bit taller than its field. Load value is always in the middle of the start and end points.
- For bending stress, tensile stress is positive and compressive stress is negative.
- Click the Count button in the dialog box.
- Calculation result is opened for viewing. Exit the window by the OK button.
- You can return to selection of the beam profile by the Back button, and select a new beam, and perform the calculation again.
- Define the presentation of the calculation result with the radio button.
- Support reactions and loads.
- Bending moment diagram.
- Shear force diagram.
- Displacement diagram.
- Fill in the data in the fields Attached to and Author.
- The calculation results are displayed in the drawing, when you click the Show results. You can save the drawing in a folder or in the drawing archives.
- You can start from the beginning to define the beam data for the calculation by pressing Start from the beginning.
- Finish the calculation by pressing the Finish button.
