New Pipe Assembly

Piping Design

Add a main line or a new branch to the main line as a pipe assembly.

As recommend, new pipe assembly is added by the Create new assembly function. The assembly will then be automatically defined as a local pipe assembly, and the assembly properties will be set to values suited to a pipe assembly.

  1. Select from the following options.
    • On the tab, in the Add group, click Add pipeline. (G4)
    • On the tab, in the Pipes group, select Add Pipeline (G4 Plant)
  2. When adding the pipeline is selected, do as follows:
    • On the tab, in the Tools group, click Create New Assembly
    • On the tab, in the Pipes group, click Create New Assembly
  3. Define the document data in the dialog box.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Begin modeling the branch line.
    • The handle linkage in the joint between the pipe and a pipe section is displayed as follows.

    • If you click a point on a pipe or a pipe section in the surrounding assembly geometry, an external reference is created and the handle linkage is highlighted in blue in the bottom frame of the assembly tree.

Note:
  • As the assembly property is by the default Local and Pipe Assembly, if you add the assembly pipe component design by the function Create New. You can save the assembly in the piping component library if this property has been defined to an assembly.

  • With the function Create new assembly can be added as a model, which is saved in the archives, and is utilized later in the link sub assembly, or in other assemblies. If the assembly is created in this way, its properties must be edited to become suitable for a pipe assembly.
