Component Library
Library
It is recommended that you save a part or assembly consisting of local parts in the library when
- The modeling is complete.
- The required dimension table has been added to the model.
- When this model is used in several assemblies as a component.
Adding a finished library component to an assembly
- The function starts with the context-sensitive function: Add > Component.
- For more details, see: Add a Library Component
How to Model a New Library Component?
Model the part with the usual part modeling functions.
- Add a dimension table to it if you want to be able to vary the component when adding it.
- See the creation of the dimension table of a part model: Edit the Dimension Table of a Part Model
- Add a grip point to it if you want to specify the locating point of the part somewhere other than the origin of the part's first sketch.
- See adding a grip point: Add a Grip Point
Save the part model in the component library

- The function starts with the context-sensitive function: Save to Library >As Component.
- For more details, see: Save a Part in the Component Library
Save the assembly model in the component library
You can save an assembly in a component library that only contains local parts.
- The function starts with the context-sensitive function: Save to Library
- For more details, see: Save an Assembly as a Library Component
