Use a Planar Surface to Define the Sweep Plane

Profile Structure Design

Define the sweep plane based on a planar face selected from a model. The cursor is constrained to the sweep plane. Profile sweep is performed in the sweep plane when a point has been selected as the position for the cross-section.

  1. Start adding a profile.
  2. Click the starting point of the profile.
  3. Click the planar face as sweep plane with following button: Plane of profile sweep (with face).
  4. Select a planar face from the model.
  5. Click the end point of the profile.

Note:
  • Instead of clicking the button, press the Shift+N keys when the cursor is over the planar face.
  • You can undo the sweep plane of the profile defined above, for example
    • By clicking again the button and selecting another planar surface.
    • By selecting another auxiliary function.
    • By pressing the U key or selecting the context-sensitive function: Constraint > X axis.
    • By pressing the I key or selecting the context-sensitive function: Constraint > Y axis.
    • By pressing the O key or selecting the context-sensitive function: Constraint > Z axis.
