Create the cover sheet for a spare parts book as a Vertex drawing in the main assembly.

It can be one cover sheet in the spare parts book.

Add a cover sheet as follows:

  1. Drawing. Create a drawing in the main assembly by selecting the context-sensitive function Drawings.

    Create a New Drawing of a Model

    Usually the first (_1) drawing of the model is created for the purpose of manufacturing or internal use of a company. Model drawings from _2 can be used on other purposes, spare parts book, for example.

  2. Image of a Cover Sheet. You can continue, for example, by adding a new projection and changing its drawing mode.
    • Delete the old projection from the drawing.
    • Add a new projection with the context-sensitive function Projection.

    • Select a Drawing Mode, for example OpenGL Shading.
    • Click OK.
  3. Sheet (drawing). Do either of the following:
    • Instead of using a sheet, you can define drawing limits for the drawing.

      Select the context-sensitive function Properties and then select the Drawing Limits tab in the dialog box. Select the A4 Portrait sheet in the Predefined Drawing Limits field. Click OK.

    • Add the sheet to the drawing from the symbol library.

      The sheet templates created by the software supplier are located in the System/SparePartsBook folder of the symbol library. For example, select the SP_A4.vxp sheet.

  4. Text of a Cover Sheet. If necessary, you can add text to the cover sheet with the functions in the Texts Vertex menu.

  5. Set all layers of the drawing as visible with the Layers> All Layers function.

  6. Save the drawing in the archive with the File> Save function.
  7. Archives Data. Fill in the following information in the drawing's archival data:
    • Fill in the Class field as follows:
      • Select Other Documents from the Main Group menu.
      • Select Spare Parts Book.
      • Select SP Cover as the class. This defines the drawing as a cover sheet which will be collected in the spare parts book.
  8. Click OK.
